Managing user sessions and authentication

You can control the behavior related to user sessions and authentication for all Rad AI Reporting users in your organization.

Prerequisites

  1. You must have the “Admin Access” permission enabled for your role. Learn more about roles and permissions.

    💡 Rad AI's preconfigured “Admin” role has these permissions enabled by default.

     

  2. The settings “Idle timeout” and “Maximum session duration” are enabled for your organization.

Idle timeout

When this setting is enabled, each user must log in to Rad AI Reporting again with their username and password if they are inactive for longer than the specified time, which is 300 minutes by default.

To specify the idle timeout:

  1. Select Admin > System Config from the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.
     
  2. Scroll down to Session & Authentication.
     

  3. Under Idle timeout, enter a value in minutes or click Reset to default.

    Your changes are applied immediately to all users in your organization.

     

Maximum session duration

When this setting is enabled, each user must log in to Rad AI Reporting again after the specified time, which is 720 minutes by default. This limit applies whether the session is active or idle.

To specify the maximum session duration:

  1. Select Admin > System Config from the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.
     
  2. Scroll down to Session & Authentication.
     

  3. Under Maximum session duration, enter a value in minutes or click Reset to default.

    Your changes are applied immediately to all users in your organization.

     

Auto-logout on app exit

When this setting is enabled, you can specify whether users see a “Personal Settings” option that allows them to choose to automatically log out when they exit the Rad AI Reporting desktop app. 

To set whether users can choose their auto-logout behavior:

  1. Select Admin > System Config from the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.
     
  2. Scroll down to Session & Authentication.
     
  3. Under Auto-logout on app exit, choose a setting:
     
    • Let users choose in their Personal Settings enables the “Auto-Logout on App Exit” setting in “Personal Settings > Sessions.” Each user can choose whether to auto-logout after closing the desktop app. This option is enabled by default once it is visible in “Sessions.”
       
    • Always log users out ensures that all users are logged out each time they close the desktop app. The “Auto-Logout on App Exit” setting in “Personal Settings > Sessions” is disabled.

Frequently asked questions

 

Why don’t I see “Idle timeout” and “Maximum session duration” in “Admin > System Config”?

These settings must be enabled by Rad AI. Contact support@radai.com for access.

 

Why is “Auto-Logout on App Exit” disabled in “Personal Settings”?

Administrators set whether this option is available to all users in an organization. If it is disabled, you can ask your administrator to enable it.

 

Why is “Auto-Logout on App Exit” visible in “Personal Settings” in the web version of Rad AI Reporting if it only applies to the desktop app?

Users control the setting from the web version, but it only applies to the desktop app.
