Setting a priority order for template auto-launch rules
Because auto-launch rules can be applied at both personal and site levels, a priority order is necessary to determine which template gets launched if the rules differ. Example:
- As an admin, you configure a template auto-launch rule for the ‘Chest 1 view’ procedure at the Tampa site.
- Dr. Rad, who works at the Tampa site, configures her own personal template auto-launch rule for the ‘Chest 1 view’ procedure.
- Dr. Rad opens a ‘Chest 1 view’ report from her worklist.
- Your priority order will determine which template gets launched:
- If ‘user personal rule’ is prioritized over ‘site rule’, then Dr. Rad’s rule will apply and her template will get launched.
- If ‘site rule’ is prioritized over ‘user personal rule’, then the rule you configured will apply and your template will get launched.
- If ‘user personal rule’ is prioritized over ‘site rule’, then Dr. Rad’s rule will apply and her template will get launched.
Here’s how to set a priority order for auto-launch rules:
- Select Admin > System Config from the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- Scroll down to the Templates section.
-
Use the arrows to determine the priority order for auto-launch rules. The rule type in position 1 takes priority over the rule type in position 2, and so on.
💡 If no template auto-launch rule exists for the rule type in position 1, then the system will move down the priority order and apply the first rule that exists.
For example, let’s say ‘site rule’ occupies position 1 in the priority order and ‘user personal rule’ occupies position 2. No site rule exists for ‘Chest 1 view’, but the user has configured a personal rule. In this case, the user’s rule will apply and their template will get launched.
