Supported checks
We use a combination of rule and model-based approaches to run our checks. Here are the types of checks that are currently available in Rad AI Reporting:
- Missing punctuation, such as missing periods.
- Extra punctuation, such as duplicated periods.
- Extra spaces
- Age mismatch, which checks any age mentioned in the report against data in the patient age field and report metadata.
- Sex mismatch, which uses our predefined dictionary of common male and female anatomical terms to check the report against data in the patient sex field and report metadata.
- Spelling errors, which checks the report for misspelled words using dictionary look-up, and identifies the closest words for suggested correction.
- Grammatical errors, like starting a sentence with a lowercase letter, or duplicated words.
Enabling Report Checker
The Report Checker is on by default. However, if you don't see the Report Checker view in your reporting workbench, follow these steps:
- Click on your profile at the bottom of the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- Select Personal Settings.
- Under Appearance > Workbench, turn on the Report Checker toggle. This adds the Report Checker view to your report workbench.
- (Optional) Scroll down to Enabled Report Checks to enable/disable specific types of checks. See supported checks for more information.
Viewing and resolving checks
- Open a study from your worklist and start filling in a report.
- Checks happen periodically as you fill in the report. There are two ways in which errors get highlighted:
1. Underlined in the report editor. Right-click the word to reveal the error type and suggested corrections (if applicable).
2. Listed in the Report Checker view. Click the three-dot icon next to a word to reveal suggested corrections.
- Sign the report.
Showing a confirmation pop-up on signing a report
You may want a confirmation pop-up to show on signing a report. This pop-up will highlight any unresolved errors in your report.
Confirmation pop-ups are turned off by default. Here’s how to turn them on:
- Click on your profile at the bottom of the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- Select Personal Settings.
- Scroll down to Editor > Menus.
- Click the drop-down under Sign Report Confirmation and select an option to show the confirmation pop-up on signing a report.

The initial version of our model was designed to capture basic errors, like grammar, spelling, and sex/age mismatches. We plan to add more advanced checks over time. If there’s a particular type of check you’d like to see, please contact support@radai.com.
