This feature allows you to view reports in Rad AI Reporting that were finalized in external reporting systems—useful if you’re in the process of switching systems.
Finalized external reports will be included in Rad AI Reporting report lists. From there you can open the report, view its content, and attach addendums.

Prerequisites
-
Make sure the ability to view finalized external reports has been enabled for your organization. Contact support@radai.com to request access.
💡 This feature is enabled by default for new organizations beginning July 1, 2026. - You may be asked to send Rad AI some historical data (including both ORMs and ORUs).
Viewing finalized external reports in the report list
- Select Reports from the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.
-
Any reports finalized (signed) in external reporting systems will appear in the report list with finalized status.
⚠️ Only external reports with an ORU that has the status “finalized” (F) or “amended” (A) will appear in the Rad AI Reporting report list as an external report.
We do not currently process ORUs with other statuses, such as “preliminary” (P) and “corrected” (C). Corresponding studies will show as "completed" in the Rad AI Reporting report list.⚠️ External reports will only appear in the main "All studies" list—not in filtered report lists, such as Signed Reports.
- Open an external report. In the report editor header, External System will be shown next to the date and time to indicate the report was signed externally.
Attaching an addendum to external reports
- Open a finalized external report from the report list.
- Click the Addend Report button in the report editor header.
- Fill out your addendum, then click Sign.
-
Open the report again from the report list to view the addendum.
⚠️ When you attach an addendum to finalized external reports, the addendum will show both the addendum content and the original report content—and may contain formatting errors. This is because the data is fetched from the FHIR store, where the report and addendum are stored together.
Frequently asked questions
As an admin, can I see finalized external reports in the Report Manager?
Finalized external reports (and any addendums) won’t appear in the Report Manager. However, addendums that were attached to finalized external reports in Rad AI Reporting will appear in the Report Manager—indicated by a document icon.
What happens when a report is finalized externally while a draft for the corresponding study exists in Rad AI Reporting?
If a report is finalized in an external system, Rad AI will automatically remove any existing draft for that study and display the finalized report instead.
This ensures that you always see the most up-to-date version of the report and helps prevent duplicate reads or working from an outdated draft.
If you believe a draft was removed unexpectedly, contact support@radai.com.
Are any types of external reports excluded from the report list in Rad AI Reporting?
Only external reports with an ORU that has the status “finalized” (F) or “amended” (A) will appear in the Rad AI Reporting report list as an external report.
We do not currently process ORUs with other statuses, such as “preliminary” (P) and “corrected” (C). Corresponding studies will show as "completed" in the Rad AI Reporting report list.
Do finalized external reports in Rad AI Reporting inherit associated studies?
No, they don’t. If an externally-finalized report has associated studies, those associated studies won’t appear as part of that report in Rad AI Reporting.
If you attach an addendum to that report in Rad AI Reporting, the resulting ORU only contains data on the report and addendum—not any studies previously associated in an external system.
